Heather has a strong record of service to the campus community. Currently, she is a member of the Dallas College Faculty Association and the English Curriculum Committee (CETL & Special Topics Subcommittees). While at UNM-Valencia, Heather organized the yearly literary festival and participated in shared governance activities on the UNM Press Committee. She also served as Humanities Division Chair, English Program Coordinator, and Faculty President. Heather was nominated for UNM's 2021 Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award and is a proud member of the American Association of University Women.
